No team, no plan, and no real idea what I was doing, just a stubborn need to get one project across the finish line. APxAI is everything I built to get there. This is the honest story, in my own words.
Honestly? APxAI started as me trying to save money. I had little projects I wanted to put online, and I was learning how to actually do it: wiring up AI integrations, standing up agents, and getting things to deploy on the cloud. Azure CLI, logging in, adding whatever each project needed. Railway was my favorite… right up until the bill showed up, or I misplaced a key.
I didn't fully know what I was doing. I just wanted to finish the process: get one thing across the finish line. At the time, that finish line was a single deployment of a MySpace-looking page with two photos and a Spotify embed that kept breaking. (Joke. Mostly.) Every tool on this site came from a real problem I hit on the way.
ClaudeJr is just an interceptor, a small, free layer that sits in front of Claude and GPT. I'm casually training it to help with dev, but its real job is simple: spend less, leak nothing. It quietly cuts most of my model bill (measured around 66%, and on a good run the speculative cascade saves about half again) and it guards my keys so I stop repeating my own mistakes.
Because… .env files and I have a history. I'm not saying I ever lost an important key. I'm saying I might have dropped one, picked it back up, and made a few copies with different secrets just to feel safe. I once shipped a project and watched my notifications light up a few minutes later, back before GitHub's secret scanning had my back, when I was paying for a service just to tell me what I'd already done. That's the whole reason the vault and ClaudeJr exist. See exactly how your keys stay yours →
Use the agents. Then customize them. Underneath, they all start from the same place: you tweak, and if you're creative, you shine. But at the end of the day, you are you. Get the help you need, then put your own self on top. In any field, that's the part that makes you different.
Tech moves fast, and you're not behind. With AI, the only thing between you and the finish line is whether you keep going.
